MSA CULTURAL TOURS NEWSLETTER
May 3, 2017

Dear Fellow Travelers,

Greetings from Florida! We were scheduled to return to MA on April 27, but something happened to disrupt those plans. Eight weeks ago, Ben began experiencing indigestion during our daily hour workout on the treadmill. A visit to the Dr., followed by a stress and other tests, led to the revelation that Ben was walking around with 95% blockage in several arteries. This discovery on April 7 was followed by quadruple by-pass surgery April 10. Thankfully the surgery went well, Ben, returned home April 16 and under the marvelous care of Louise is making excellent progress. He is now able to walk a mile without resting. While you may find this account of Ben’s medical history tedious, there is a purpose to this madness.

A by-product of Ben's thoughtless and inconvenient timing for surgery was the need to cancel the Second Half class JOURNEY TO THE HISTORY AND CULTURE OF SPAIN which he was to teach with Mariano and was to be followed by a tour to Spain. The cancellation of the course has led some to assume the tour had been canceled; however, as Mark Twain could have written, “the story of the cancellation of the tour has been greatly exaggerated.” The tour is still on, and we hope you will join us in this adventure. Below is the description of the tour. Mariano and I look forward to leading you on an exciting JOURNEY TO THE HISTORY AND CULTURE OF SPAIN.

JOURNEY TO CLASSICAL SPAIN
SEPT 27 – OCT 7, 2017
This will be the fifth Journey to Spain in collaboration with Mariano. This itinerary will include Toledo, Avila, Salamanca, Segovia and Madrid. In Salamanca, we will stay in the beautiful Parador de Salamanca. A complete detailed description of the itinerary and registration form can be found on the MSA Tours website. This tour is priced at $2995.

In a future NEWSLETTER, we will send you information about the two exciting tours planned in 2018 to Portugal and Crete/Santorini, but for now our focus is getting sufficient participants for the Spain Tour.
