THE HISTORY AND ART OF MOROCCO
OCTOBER 1 - 10, 2020
$3295 DOUBLE OCCUPANCY

Dear Fellow Travelers,

When we last wrote you in early August, we announced plans to organize a tour to Morocco in October 2020. After four months of substantial organizational effort that included a visit to fabulous Morocco which is full of historical and artistic treasures, we have a very exciting tour to offer you. We are calling the tour, THE HISTORY AND ART OF MOROCCO, which will emphasize the history of Morocco from the Romans to the 21st Century including the 20th century French Protectorate and Moroccan Independence. Tony and Kathy Miraglia will again join the tour to share their extensive knowledge of the arts to elucidate the great artistic treasures of Morocco.
The tour will be enhanced by a welcoming dinner in Casablanca at the famous Rick’s Café. The final day of the tour designed as a free day will also provide activities for those who want to keep on the move with an organized activity. As Abraham Lincoln wrote, “you can’t please all the people all the time,” but we are going to give it our best effort. For those who do not want a free day October 9, we are offering two exciting options: The 1st a half-day Moroccan cooking class either in a Moroccan home or a culinary facility depending on the size of the group. The 2nd option is an all-day excursion to the beautiful Atlas Mountains and Ourika Valley. Also included in the price of the tour is transportation from Dartmouth to Logan Airport and return to Dartmouth.

A related issue for those interested in learning more about the history and art of Morocco before the tour is a course Tony Miraglia and I will be teaching in the spring. The course, THE HISTORY AND ART OF MOROCCO FROM THE ROMANS TO THE 20TH CENTURY, will be offered this May and June for The Second Half Lifelong Learning Institute. For more information on the course please contact Roberta Melton or Sue Richard office@secondhalflli.org or by phone (508) 677-4694.
